photography

Finally, the last day of the week! I have had a really lazy, super boring week, and now what better way to end it than to procrastinate and be more lazy! I'm saying goodbye to being productive and hello to being a sloth! Kidding! No, Seriously though, it's been one sluggish-sloth-ish week, and the "lazy" vibe I've been having for the past days seem to be one with the plate I'm currently working on, CAPITAL SIN NO. 5 "SLOTH"-- which by the way, I also am procrastinating on.

Moving on with the ultra-lazy vibe, last Thursday night, or was it Friday already? Anyway, I think it was Friday already when I did a shoot on Product Photography-- this was the next thing to do on our Photography course, and I had to do it in advance because the submission of photos is next week and I still had no idea on what to do and what stuff to shoot. So yesterday, I borrowed several shooting equipments from my classmates, borrowed some "as-if-products" from my boardmates and at 1 a.m. in the morning of Friday I set up a mini home studio (right after my boardmates and I watched a Chinese drama) and went on with the shooting. I felt really productive during those hours, it was as if I was on superhuman mode or I had tons of energy drink, when actually I had none. I tried on different angles of lighting, even trying on different light sources, and I was doing it solo. I had no help at all, except for the presence of one of my boardmates-- she was there to keep me feeling all safe and sound-- because hours earlier there had been a "ghost" situation in our boarding house and everybody was scared out of their wits, and although I am one brave soldier, still that random feeling that someone is looking at me from somewhere gets me and I can't help but feel distracted. I needed to concentrate on what I was doing and I couldn't do that when what I mostly did was look around all the time for red, bloodshot eyes, in the darkness of the house. So a big shout out and thank you to my boardmate Jhyne for keeping me company. So this is how my mini home studio looked like:

As you can see, I definitely became resourceful and used all kinds of things inside the house, from the chairs, to the emergency light, to the clothespin! HAHA! It was my first time doing a shoot like this and as I have posted in my facebook account, I definitely found my calling in Product Photography! I was so overwhelmed with how "forgivable" and how "acceptable" my shots turned out to be, that I felt proud of myself for a moment. I have decided, I definitely want to do a product shoot again! This is a sneak preview of some the shots I took:

They are quite simple shots, but I like them. This was the only time I felt productive the whole week! And now, for the last day of the week, I'm back again to being the lazy-bonehead I've been for the past seven days. Ha! Talk about progress. I will do another post regarding the shots that I took, but not now. I still have to finish the Illustration plate I've been working on, but I doubt I'll ever get rid of this lazy feeling. It has been one lazy Saturday. See you! Godbless! More updates soon!
